No, I am not talking about backing up out of your driveway...
When was the last time you did a system backup? How about the last time you backed up all those photos and videos? Have you backed up your email, or your favorites? How about last years tax documents? Did you back up that 40 page thesis? If you are anything like the rest of my customers you only think about backing up when it is too late. If all those files where to suddenly deleted how would that make you feel. Backup media is extremely affordable and everyone should think about a backup solution TODAY, not when your machine is smoking and it's too late. Here are a few affordable and fast solutions to insure your documents and files are protected.
Large home network backups with 1 terabyte of storage - Easy to use backup software, store thousands of pictures, days of video, and thousands of music file. Great use as a media center repository. About the size of a large paperpack book, somewhat portable, but not the kind of thing you want to carry around all the time.
On the go 500 gigabytes of storage - Half the capacity of the 1 terabye storage unit, but still plenty of room for all your backup needs. On the plus side it is very portable, slips into a laptop bag or even a back pocket. I keep mine loaded up with pictures to share with my family, video, and tons of software that I like to share with customers, this is also a great tool for sharing large files from one computer to another. Oh yeah and the shiny black piano finish makes it look slick and cool.
USB Thumb drives are so inexpensive that everyone should have one on their keychain. Extremely fast, extremely easy way to backup and carry your files with you. I carry a 4gig loaded with the stuff I most often use, most computers even have a front USB port that allows you to plug right in. Great for quick easy transportation of files back and forth to the office, or for carrying around pictures and video of the kids. These little gadgets can even be locked up to provide security in case of loss or theft. Great way to carry around the stuff you use the most.
